MVP is dedicated to coaching education and staying current on the latest developments in volleyball theory.  We place a high value on life lessons that players learn through the sport.  As such, MVP coaches are members of the following organizations: USAV Impact, AVCA, Positive Coaching Alliance, USAV CAP.  To learn more about any of these programs, please click the logo. 

 
All players 12 and older will have position-specific training on alternating Wednesday evenings at the College of Charleston!  Here are our coaches:

12s-18s Hitting & Blocking Coach
Katelyn Bishop
 
 In high school, Coach Bishop was recognized as Indiana Gatorade Player of the Year and selected to the Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50. During this time, Coach Bishop was also a member of the USA Volleyball Girls Youth National Team, representing the USA for three years, including a fourth place finish in the 2003 World Championships in Poland. Coach Bishop continued her career at the University of Southern California where her team advanced to the NCAA Final Four.  Coach Bishop's 18-Gold team finished 4th at Big South in 2014. Coach Bishop is an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at the College of Charleston. This will be Coach Bishop's fourth season with MVP.
 
  
          12s-18s Defensive Coach
                  Stevi Robinson

Coach Robinson played for four years at Pepperdine University as the starting libero. She also played on the beach team at Pepperdine and won a National Championship. Coach Robinson then transferred to the University of Southern California to play beach where she won another National Championship. After college volleyball, Coach Robinson played on the USA National Team and played professionally in Germany.  She coached for MVP last season and she is currently the assistant coach at the Citadel.

12s-18s Setting Coach
Kreg Togami

Coach Togami worked for 5 seasons as an assistant coach at North Carolina State.  He coached an additional eight years of college volleyball locally at the Citadel and at Charleston Southern.  In addition, Coach Togami has many years of experience coaching club volleyball, including coaching both boys' and girls' teams at MVP.  He currently runs the Windjammer Volleyball beach leagues.


 
 
 
Erin Campbell


 
Coach Campbell grew up in Greeneville, TN, playing for Greeneville High School.  During high school, she was selected to the All State, All Northeast TN, All Conference, and All District teams both her Junior and Senior years.  Coach Erin played for Tri-Cities Volleyball Club and started her collegiate career at East Tennessee State University for two seasons.  She transferred to Tusculum College for her final two years, where she still holds the record for digs per set.  Coach Erin started her coaching career at Tri-Cities, coaching 14s and 16s, and sending 3 players on to play at Division 1 collegiate programs.  She currently coaches for Cario where she has led the 6th grade team to two championships.  This will be Coach Campbell's 5th season with MVP and her 2nd with 12-Gold

Jaime Shamis


Coach Shamis grew up in York, PA, playing for Red Lion High School, and club for both South Paws and York Juniors. She continued on at the collegiate level, playing four years as outside and right-side hitter for DII Shippensburg University. Coach Shamis has coached juniors volleyball for 7 years, starting as an assistant at York Juniors for a 16s team that earned a National Bid and sent 5 players on to the collegiate level, including one to Penn State. Coach Shamis has also coached with Sky High Volleyball in Chicago, as well as for Spring Grove High School in PA. This is Coach Shamis' sixth season with MVP.

Jen Schilpp


 
 
 

Coach Schilpp started her collegiate volleyball career at DII Anderson College where she participated in the Junior College national tournament her freshman year and was named All Region and All Tournament player her sophomore year. She continued playing at DI Charleston Southern University where she was ranked 1st in the country in serving. Coach Schilpp has lived in Mt. Pleasant since 1991 and is married with four daughters. She is currently the fifth grade volleyball coach at Whitesides Elementary School. This will be Coach Schilpp's fifth season with MVP.

 


 
Jen Monson


Coach Monson grew up in Nebraska where she played high school and club volleyball.  She went on to attend Charleston Southern University where she set several hitting records that still stand today.  Coach Monson then played professionally in Bratislava, Slovakia before starting her coaching career.  She coached as an assistant at the Citadel, and then went on to coach club teams at 13s-17s, leading multiple teams to USAV National Championships. This will be Coach Monson's third season with MVP.
 
Bill Howard 
Coach Howard has been a 13s volleyball coach for the past 17 years.  In the time he has been at Cario Middle School, he has built the program from one team to eight and has won seven league championships. In addition to coaching volleyball at Cario, he is an 8th grade science teacher and was recently named Teacher of the Year.  Coach Howard is Co-Director of MVP and he has coached MVP 13-Gold to seven straight successful seasons.

Jordan Franklin

Coach J grew up in Bluffton, South Carolina where she attended Bluffton High School.
She was on varsity for four years and was team captain her junior and senior years.
Coach J earned All-state and All-region honors on her school and club teams and was named MVP in her final two years of high school.  Coach J went on play play at King University as a DS/OH.  This will be her first year coaching with MVP.

Natalie Tucker

 

Coach Natalie grew up on Isle of Palms where she attended Liang Middle School and Wando High School.  At Wando, Natalie led the Warriors to a state championship game as setter and team captain.  That season, Natalie was selected South Carolina Player of the Year.  She continued her playing career at Limestone College, where she earned Team MVP honors in 2015.  This is Coach Natalie's second season coaching for MVP.

  Bettina Woodman 
Coach Woodman grew up in Fairfield, CT, where she played for Fairfield High School, earning All-FCIAC honors. She also played for CT Juniors Volleyball club from 2004-2006, and helped lead her 18s team to win the New England Regional Championships in 2006. She was selected for the NERVA high performance team in 2005, and went on to play DI for University of Hartford as a defensive specialist.She was selected for the NERVA high performance team in 2005, and went on to play DI for University of Hartford as a defensive specialist.She coached CT Juniors Volleyball camps and state program from 2006-2014. This will be Coach Woodman's third season with
 
Eddy Sikes  
           
  
Coach Sikes has coached over 10 seasons at the 16U Junior Olympic level. He has led his teams to two USAV Nationals bids, including a Palmetto Region Championship in 1999 and bid with the 2012 MVP 16-Gold team. At the high school level, Coach Sikes headed the volleyball programs at Northwood Academy from 2000-2009 and Pinewood Prep from 2010-2014. During his tenure at Northwood, Coach Sikes led his team to a State Championship 2nd place finish, two Regional Runner-Up finishes and earned recognition as SCISA Coach of the Year in 2004.  This will be Coach Sikes' sixth season with MVP. During the 2015 season, Coach Sikes' 16 Gold team won the SAVL Alliance Classic tournament and finished 3rd at the SAVL Power Championships.

Wanna Sikes
Coach Sikes brings over 15 years of coaching experience to MVP.  She has coached more than 10 seasons of club volleyball for 12s-15s age groups and also headed the middle school volleyball program at Northwood Academy from 2000-2009. This will be her sixth season with MVP.

Jessica Bohonowych

 
Coach Bohonowych grew up in New York City.  She played Collegiate Club volleyball during both her undergraduate at Duke University and her PhD at UC-Davis. During her last year at UC-Davis as both starter and club director, she led her team to a #1 National Ranking at the end of the regular season, and a fifth place finish at National Championships. Coach Bohonowych served as a volunteer assistant coach for a season at DII Claflin University and has coached seven seasons as the 15-Gold head coach. She works for the Foundation of Prader-Willi Research as the Associate Director of Research Programs and is Co-Director of MVP.

             Carrie Clark


Coach Carrie grew up in Valparaiso, Indiana and played high school volleyball at Valparaiso High School. She played varsity for three years and was team captain for her final two years.

Coach Carrie played college volleyball at University of Saint Francis for four years.  Her honors included: all freshman team, first team all conference, and academic all conference. Coach Carrie was the 5th player in school history to reach 1,000 career kills.

This will be her third year coaching club and her first season with MVP.
 
Wendy Anderson
Coach Anderson grew up in Cowpens, SC, and was a three-sport athlete at Broome High School in Spartanburg. She went on to play volleyball and basketball at the collegiate level for DI Clemson University. As a middle hitter at Clemson, she earned multiple recognitions during her college career, including All-ACC honors. Transitioning from player to coach, Coach Anderson began at Converse College in Spartanburg leading the Lady Allstars to several conference titles. She accepted the challenge of building the women's volleyball program at The Citadel, leading that Division I program for seven years. For four straight seasons, Coach Anderson led her MVP teams to Open Gold finishes at the Palmetto Region Championships - earning MVP's first ever bid to USAV nationals in 2011 and winning the Region Championship in 2013. Last season, her 17-Gold team finished 3rd at SAVL Championships. Coach Anderson is currently an assistant principal at Laing Middle School and this will be her 8th season with MVP.

Jenny Costello
Coach Costello grew up in Cazenovia, NY.  She played collegiate volleyball as a setter at Medaille College, serving as team captain for two seasons and leading her team to a conference championship in 2001. Coach Costello still holds Top 10 career records for assists, digs and service aces.  Upon graduating from Medaille with a degree in Sports Management, Coach Costello served as the head volleyball coach at the State University of New York - Morrisville before relocating to Charleston.  This will be Coach Costello's 6th year with MVP.
